Digital Citizenship - Day 5

Learning Goals:
  • Demonstrate Digital Citizenship. (2 - IV.C.1)
  • Access the internet to search for information and resources. (2 - IV.B.1,5,6,8)

Today We Will:
  1. Click on the link below to go to the Internet Safety tutorial.  
  2. Complete the Internet Safety Notes as you explore the tutorial.  Turn in the notes when you are done.
  3. Click on the EXTRAS tab and Take the quiz.  Take a screen shot of your results.  
  4. Send me an email.  Include in  3 things you have learned from this unit that you did not know before.  Attach the screen shot of your quiz results.  (remember proper e-mail etiquette)

E-mail 101

Learning Goal:  Identify the function and purpose of email and use email to share files/documents.

Today We Will:
  • Email 101
  • Click on the link above to take the Email 101 tutorial. Complete the three lessons in the tutorial. Take the quiz and take a screen shot of your results when done.
  • ** Press shift + ctrl + 4 to take a screen shot. Screen shot will be on your desktop.
  • Log into your district provided student email.
    • Go to mail.glps.k12.mi.us
    • Log in using the same username/password you use to log into your computer.
    • Send me an e-mail (clarkt@glcomets.net) following appropriate etiquette and grammar rules.  **Please put your class hour in the subject line. 
      • Include in your message:
        • A greeting line followed by a message which includes:
        • What do you think Digital Citizenship means?
        • Attach the screen shot of your quiz results using the Attach a File feature in gmail.
        • Use an appropriate closing line to finish your email.

Remember EVERY COMET WILL:
  • Write in a complete sentence.
  • Use capital "I".
  • Avoid "text talk".
  • Capitalize the beginning of sentences.
  • Use punctuation at the end of sentences.

Introductory PowerPoint- Day 1

Learning Goal:
Develop informal presentations using media to engage and inform audiences.
8 - I.A.6

Activity:
Please create a six slide PowerPoint presentation. Each slide should have custom animation, and add transitions between each slide. DO NOT include sounds, or preset timings.


Slide One: Your name and grade
Slide Two: Your birth date and something in history that happened on that day. (doesn't have to be the exact year you were born, just the date)
Slide Three: Something you are involved with at GLHS, or want to become involved with, and why you joined/want to join.
Slide Four: Your favorite food
Slide Five: Something we don't know about you...
Slide Six: Your favorite hobby and a description of why you enjoy it.


When completed, save it in your Student_Home folder. Save it as your name!
